WTO ministerial conference: India to implement FTA with Oman from May 1, says Piyush Goyal

New Delhi: Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Thursday, during a press conference at the World Trade Organization (WTO) meetings, highlighted India’s recent trade developments and ongoing international negotiations.
He announced that India will implement the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Oman from May 1.
Speaking about discussions with the United Kingdom, Goyal said UK officials expressed satisfaction over India achieving the fastest-ever FTA agreement.
On South Africa, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal stated that substantial groundwork had been completed and a preferential trade agreement is expected to commence soon.
